Capt. Olan Menard
General Manager
Capt. Olan Menard brought Grosse Savanne a wealth
of knowledge in hunting and fishing when he joined us in 2001. A
native of Southwest Louisiana, Olan is our expert in the bass fishing
department and has been an avid bird hunter for many years. |

Capt. Karl Zimmermann
Marketing/Assistant Manager
Capt. Karl Zimmermann is a business management/marketing graduate
of McNeese State University in Lake Charles and brings to us expertise
in the marketing and promotional aspect of our business. Karl has
been guiding for several years in the areas of saltwater fishing,
waterfowl hunting and gator hunting. He will take those extra steps
to ensure all the big and small details are handled so that your
fishing or hunting trip is as successful as possible.

Capt. Doug Miller
Land Manager
Capt. Doug Miller has been with Grosse Savanne since 2001. Doug
is a wildlife management graduate of McNeese State University in
Lake Charles. He will do what it takes to provide us and our customers
with the perfect wildlife attracting habitat. Doug also oversees
our alligator-hunting season, and guides our guests on both saltwater
and bass fishing excursions not to mention a few excellent pan fishing
expeditions.

Chan Mayard
Professional Guide
A professional guide since 2001, Chan Mayard has a way with clients
and birds alike. Theres never a dull moment while hunting
with Chanwho always has a smile on his face. He brings to
us a great deal of experience in waterfowl hunting and operation
of our heavy equipment used to sink duck/goose blinds, plow, and water buffalo. Chan and his wife Bea, brought a future duck hunting guide into the world in '06. Colton is in training already with his first set of duck calls and camo cloths. This
young man, along with his #1 black labrador retriever Sky, truly
enjoys taking care of our guests.

Capt. Mac McElveen
Professional Guide
Mac is another welcome addition to our staff, having joined us
in 2003. Mac has fished in just about every gallon of water in SW
Louisiana and has brought to us an unbelievable amount of knowledge
in salt and fresh water fishing. Before starting his guiding career,
Mac had won three major fishing tournaments in Louisiana including
the CCA Star in 1997. He is also one of the top speckled-belly goose
callers in the area. Mac is truly a professional in his field and
takes the extra time to pre-plan and prepare for your guided trip
to ensure the best results for his customers.

Capt. Jeff Streeter
Professional Guide
Jeff joined us in 2005 and has been an extraordinary addition to our staff
at Grosse Savanne. He is known to us as a jack of all trades. Before
deciding to combine his hunting and fishing talents with his career,
Jeff worked in construction for almost 20 years. He and his wife
Leslie, have a daughter named Britney whose energetic personality
resembles her dads in every aspect. You had better eat your Wheaties
before a goose hunt of a lifetime with Jeff.

Capt. Devin Palomino
Professional Guide
Devin joined us in April of '07 and has continued to impress our customers with his fly fishing skills throughout the summer. He ties his own flys and has been know to put as many as 15 red fish on the hook in 3 to 4 hours of casting. Devin was born and raised in Southwest Louisiana and has been waterfowl hunting and fishing in the area pretty much all of his life. Call now to book the fly fishing trip of a lifetime with Devin. |

Capt. David Rasmus
Professional Guide
After guiding trophy hunters to kill giant elk and mule deer in the Colorado Rockies for 18 years, David moved back to his hometown of Lake Charles to pursue the hunting and fishing guide career in the "True Sportsman's Paradise."
David is like a kid in a candy store when it comes to chasing Redfish or waterfowl in Grosse Savanne's saltwater marshes. He is also a professional photographer, so come get a picture taken with your trophy Redfish of a lifetime!

Capt. Rod Gaspard
Bartender/Evening Attendant
Everyone that has had the opportunity to meet Capt. Rod Gaspard
knows there is no kinder man. Rod and his father managed Amocos
White Lake Lodge for years. He always captures the attention of
most all our guest with his endless number of jokes and knowledge
of living the life of a true cajun. Rod can make the finest Bloody
Mary and will put everyone at ease on their firstor fourteenthfishing
trip.

Gayle Fontenot
Lodge Chef
Chef Gayle Fontenot joined Grosse Savanne prior to it becoming
a commercial lodge. Ask anyone who has ever feasted on her culinary
delights, and theyll say Gayles food is one of the main
reasons they return year after year. Be prepared, however, to return
home a few pounds heavier after experiencing Gayle's Cajun specialties
such as alligator sauce piquante and crawfish etouffee or her special
Southern brunch.

Lodge Chef
Chef Jeanette joined our staff in the fall of 2007 and brings a great deal of expertise and experience in the area of fine dining, presentation, and her specialty which is in baking and desserts. She brings to Grosse Savanne experience gained from working in some of the area's finest upscale restaurants and private clubs. |

Housekeeping
