With the opportunities to hunt and fish that are available virtually
year-round at Grosse Savanne, its no wonder the lodge is considered
a true sportsman's paradise. Yet with these opportunities come unique
challenges and rewards, as well as a responsibility to ensure your
safety and the safety of others in your party and potential bystanders.
Throughout Louisiana, appropriate licenses are required for commercial
and recreational fishing and hunting. Everyone, even Louisiana residents
over the age of 16, must possess a valid recreational fishing license
for freshwater fishing, shrimping and oystering, while saltwater
fishing requires both a saltwater and freshwater license. Likewise,
everyone over 16 must possess a valid recreational hunting license
issued to and carried by the individual while hunting. In addition
to the required state license, duck stamps are required by everyone
16 years of age and older to hunt ducks.
Louisiana also requires the successful completion of hunter education
for everyone born on or after September 1, 1969. Since all 50 states
now require some form of mandatory hunter education certification
prior to issuing a license, seasoned hunters should check the state
regulation as it may apply to them.

at http://www.wlf.state.la.us/licenses/ or by telephone using Visa or MasterCard. Call toll free 1-888/765-2602.
An authorization number for immediate use will be provided and licenses
will be mailed to the licensee. A SERVICE FEE IS CHARGED.
Guests must purchase their necessary licenses (hunting and/or
fishing) prior to arrival at Grosse Savanne. We do not offer the
sale of licenses at the lodge. We do have available federal duck
stamps for purchase at Grosse Savanne.
