UPDATE:  STATUS OF GROSSE SAVANNE FISHING POST GULF OIL SPILL

Grosse Savanne is pleased to announce that in our fishing waters, we see no near future effects from the recent Gulf of Mexico oil spill.  We are located 290 miles west of the spill location, just 30 miles from the Texas border, and 15 miles inland from the Gulf.  If the spill moves this way, there is only one inlet into our estuary for intrusion which we are sure can be blocked.  We pray for those affected to the east and are thankful to have protected fishing grounds in this part of Louisiana.  Thank you for all of your inquiries and patience during this time and especially to those who have enjoyed fabulous redfish and speckled trout fishing with us during the past months.  We look forward to another banner year on Calcasieu Lake and our private marshes!
